Summer Miracles brings older orphaned children to the U.S. to enjoy a five-week summer visit with local families who volunteer to host them in their homes and give them a chance to experience life in a family. These are older children, ages 8 and older, who have little or no chance of finding adoptive parents in their own country.
Oscar is an outgoing, fun-loving, 11-year old boy who loves life and makes friends easily.
Interviews are possible throughout July. During the 5-week Summer Miracles visit, Oscar will be staying with local residents, Marilyn & Bill Zemba.
During their five-week Summer Miracles visit, Kidsave staff, dedicated volunteers and host families work diligently to find adoptive families for these children. Over the past ten years, nearly 3,000 older children have found parents and Oscar connections with adults thanks to Kidsaves programs.
The visiting children, which include older individual children and sibling sets, are staying with families in the following U.S. communities: Southern California, Northern California, Austin (TX), Washington DC Metro area, the New York tri-state area and Atlanta (GA). The five-week visit passes very quickly; the children can only stay in the U.S. until August 4th, at which time they must return to their orphanages in Colombia.
Kidsave is a 501(c)(3) public charity that believes every child needs a family. An estimated 33 million children worldwide are orphaned, growing up without families. Kidsave exists to change that. Kidsaves mission is to ensure that no orphan or foster child is forgotten and that every child grows up in a family with love and hope for a successful future. Kidsaves Miracles programs demonstrate that there is a family for almost every child. Since 1999 Kidsaves Miracles programs have provided nearly 3,000 older children with connections to families and stable adults.
