The Castaic Lake Water Agency joined 26 other state water contractors in a lawsuit filed against federal agencies - including the United States Department of Commerce, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and National Marine Fisheries - challenging the amount of water pumped from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
The suit alleges faulty science is the push behind water restrictions on the Delta.
The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta provides the Santa Clarita Valley with 50 percent of its water.
