Brush fire at Val Verde Park under attack

Three acres scorched as of 6 p.m. Friday

Firefighters rushed to a brush fire at Val Verde Park that charred at least three acres Friday afternoon, fire officials said.

The Los Angeles County and Ventura County fire departments responded to the fire that started at 30300 Arlington Street at 5:07 p.m., Los Angeles County fire dispatch supervisor Art Marrujo said.

Firefighters were still putting out the flames just before 6 p.m., he said.

Officials do not yet know what caused the fire.
