Coroner's officials identified today the man who died after his car crashed into a pole in Santa Clarita this weekend, officials said.

Mark Anthony Reyes, 28, of Palmdale, died of multiple traumatic injuries at the scene of the collision early Saturday morning, said Los Angeles County coroner's Investigator Richard Hanna.

Reyes was driving his 2000 Honda Civic westbound on Soledad Canyon Road just west of Gladding Way when he lost control of his car and crashed it into a power pole, according to a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station report.

Detectives are investigating what caused Reyes to lose control of his vehicle, sheriff's officials said.
