The woman whose body was found Monday near Interstate 5 may have killed herself, sheriff's investigators said.

Detectives believe the body may belong to developmentally disabled Newhall resident Brigett Andrea Kennemore, 18, who went missing on Oct. 26, and that the cause of death may be suicide, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department report.

The body was discovered by a gardener just after 1 p.m. Thursday in bushes in an embankment off a transition road from eastbound Highway 126 to southbound Interstate 5.

Coroner's officials have not yet identified the body, said Los Angeles County coroner's Investigator Richard Hanna.
