House Democrats, after secretly consulting with the White House, have finally presented their leadership’s version of a health-care reform bill. Although it is nearly 2,000 pages long and sets up 111 new federal bureaucracies, boards, commissions and programs, Speaker nancy Pelosi reportedly wanted a vote before the Veteran’s Day recess.

While some question the legality of the bill mandating that Americans buy any specific services, many more question the morality of forcing Americans to pay for elective abortions for others.

The majority of the American public surveyed wants the federal funding of abortions eliminated. But the Democratic majority in Congress has voted down 16 amendments offered to protect innocent pre-born children — and taxpayers.

Just pragmatically, we need to protect these pre-born children so they can live — and become taxpayers — to help the rest of us pay even the interest on the borrowed money for these unprecedented expenditures.
