Los Angeles Police Department SWAT team officers scoured a Canyon Country condominium complex for a murder suspect early Thursday, closing off several streets and evacuating several families.
LAPD officers didn't find the suspect, but evacuated about five families from the complex during their search near the intersection of Rainbow Glen Drive and Flo Lane, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Mark Hershey. The detectives arrived at the scene Wednesday night at about 10:30 p.m. and stayed until Thursday at about 7:15 a.m.
The suspect allegedly killed a man in a shooting on Saturday in the Devonshire Community Police Station's jurisdiction, which covers parts of the northern San Fernando Valley, LAPD officials said.
The search added to traffic problems in the area Thursday morning, Hershey said.
