Sheriff's deputies have ended the search of a Stevenson Ranch home where they believed a burglary suspect was hiding.

Several Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's deputies, including a police dog and members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's SWAT team, who were coincidentally scheduled to train elsewhere in the SCV, arrived to the scene after reports that a man entered the garage of a home in the 26000 block of O'Hara at about 11 a.m., said sheriff's Lt. Brenda Cambra.

The homeowner was contacted and told sheriff's deputies that he had a gun in his home, Cambra said.

Deputies conducted a search of the home, but the suspect was not found, she said.

A preliminary search of the home showed that nothing was missing and the homeowner's gun was recovered, Cambra said.

Sheriff's deputies are investigating the incident.
