4:20 p.m. update:  
A power outage in Canyon Country that initially left about 2,600 customers without electricity Friday afternoon is now affecting only a few hundred customers, authorities said.

Power went out at about 3:20 p.m. after underground equipment was damaged by water near the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Via Princessa, said Anna Frutos-Sanchez, public affairs region manager for Southern California Edison.

Repair crews are working on the equipment to restore power, Frutos-Sanchez said.
