The National Weather Service forecast showers today and tonight, with winds reaching 25 mph. The rains are expected to be heavy at night.
The storm is expected to continue into Sunday, with the skies clearing up by Monday or Tuesday. Temperatures between today and Tuesday will hover in the 50s, with lows in the 40s.
No major damage or traffic crashes were reported by Friday night. However, water did cause a power outage in Canyon Country.
The outage left 2,600 customers without electricity at about 3:20 p.m. after underground equipment was damaged by water near the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Via Princessa, said Anna Frutos-Sanchez, the company's public affairs region manager.
By about 4:40 p.m., power had been restored to all but 329 customers, Frutos-Sanchez said.
