The National Weather Service forecasts a 50-percent chance of showers Sunday with mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will hover in the 50s, with lows in the 40s through Tuesday.
More than an inch of rain fell on parts of the SCV since the weekend storm began Friday.
The weather service issued a flash flood warning for recent burn areas in effect through Sunday morning. Another push from the storm was expected over Saturday night.
The California Highway Patrol responded to several minor collisions throughout the day, said Officer Enrique Ramos.
"We are busy because of the rain - a lot of spinouts, a lot of vehicles into guardrails," he said. "We had a few over the side, down into embankments."
Ramos reported significant vehicle damages but no major injuries.
The downpour didn't seem to bother dozens of children playing on snowy mounds Saturday in the Bristol Farms parking lot in Valencia.
Two-year-old Ella-Starr McPeters went soaring down a small man-made slope with a purple balloon in hand. Her brother, Griffin, 5, followed behind.
"This is amazing. They've never been sledding in the snow," said Canyon Country resident Tonde McPeters, mother of Ella-Starr and Griffin.
Bristol Farms hosted its Snow Day 2009 with real snow, holiday activities and caroling.
As Rob McPeters stood in the rain while watching his children, he said he welcomed the stormy weather.
"It's nice to have a break in the sunshine every now and then," McPeters said.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported no local mudslides or major traffic collisions as of Saturday evening.
Water did cause some flooding in truck lanes on Interstate 5 just north of the Highway 14 freeway, but no traffic problems were reported in the area.
