A sheriff's search and rescue team found a Canyon Country man in the Placerita Canyon Natural Area and Nature Center on Tuesday morning after he went missing and made apparent suicide threats, officials said.

The team, which started searching the nature center trails early Monday evening, found the 30-year-old man at the bottom of a ravine at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Cortland Myers.

He had some scrapes and bruises on his body and was transported to hospital, Myers said.

About 5:30 p.m. on Monday, deputies received a call that the man had sent a text message to a friend that he was going to take "the final jump," Myers said.

The man was reportedly last seen on one of the nature center trails on Monday, sheriff's officials said.

Deputies found the man's 4Runner truck in the center's parking lot and called for a search and rescue team to look for him on the trails until about 10 p.m., Myers said.

Deputies continued the search Tuesday morning from about 7 a.m. until he was found, Myers said.
