A 5-year-old boy fell from a second-story balcony at a Newhall apartment complex Saturday afternoon and had to be airlifted by paramedics to Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
The boy suffered a "severely broken femur" at an apartment complex at the 21000 block of Oakleaf Canyon Drive, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Robert Lewis.
"He was playing on the balcony," Lewis said. "At first he was unconscious but breathing when (paramedics) arrived."
Lewis said he had no more information available as of 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
