A bewildered Andrea Espinosa was surprised by her husband, Jose, and the "Experience Genie" on Thursday morning with a special "Dream Day" gift. The unexpected adventure for the family began in the parking lot of Valencia Acura.

Andrea Espinosa of Mar Vista, thought she was attending a special cancer event in support of her husband, who is fighting colon cancer. However, when the Experience Genie presented her with a Smartbox gift and it was explained she would be driving an Acura ZDX for the day she burst into tears.

The couple arrived at Valencia Acura with children Xiomara, 8, and Esai, 3, in tow. The Experience Genie, dressed in a red suit and blue "genie" mask that covered his face, quickly sprung the surprise on Andrea Espinosa, as Michelle Aguilar, Public Relations and Marketing manger of Smartbox explained the specifics of her "Dream Day."

Her special day not only included the use of the Acura ZDX but also an overnight stay at a luxury hotel suite in Los Angeles, indoor sky diving, a private helicopter tour and an afternoon at a spa.

Andrea Espinosa said the experience of dealing with Jose Espinosa's cancer has changed her life and how she looks at the world.

"At first I felt like the ground had dropped out from beneath me," she said. "But then I had to get it together and I realized we needed to make every day special."

Andrea Espinosa said she tries to make every day "a family day."

"I try to make sure that we do something as a family all the time, that we really work at being a family," she said. "Especially remembering what it means to be a family. We really enjoy each other."

Jose Espinosa said his wife has been "the rock of the family."

Andrea Espinosa said her family did a good job of keeping the surprise a secret.

"Jose never slipped up," she said. "I thought we were coming here to do an interview for the wellness community because my daughter had raised money and we were really excited to be supporting and helping the wellness community."

Cheri and Don Fleming were also on hand to greet the Espinosas and hand the couple the keys to the Acura ZDX.

"For many years, we have been supporters of the American Cancer Society and Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital" said Cheri Fleming, co-owner of Valencia Acura, "So when the Experience Genie called, we were thrilled to help create Andrea's dream day."

Cheri Fleming said when asked if the dealership had a "dream car" to go with the "Dream Day" experience she immediately thought of the new ZDX.

"It was designed by a woman and is really a dream car," she said. "It is very sexy."

The Experience Genie is on a mission to visit every major city in the world to surprise local heroes and deserving people with a "Dream Day" of experiences.

Cheri Fleming said she lost her mother to colon cancer so when the Experience Genie called the dealership and asked for help Fleming said it was a natural fit.

"This is so up Valencia Acura's alley. Health is such an important piece of our lives," she said. "It was a magical experience, to be able to give back and to be a part of this."

As the couple filed out paperwork so they could get on the road with their dream car for the day Andrea Espinosa still appeared stunned by the surprise.

"I never expected anything like this," she said. "I can't wait to go and experience all these things with my family."
