The Sheriff’s Department reported that the victim was being tailgated by the suspect’s vehicle at Dewolfe Road/ Powell Drive in Newhall on Friday.

When the victim stopped his vehicle, a male black adult ran from his vehicle and threw a rock, shattering the rear passenger window.

The victim exited his car, and the suspect began punching him in the face and body.  During the attack, the suspect yelled, “I hate white people.”

A second male black adult exited the car and joined in the attack. Suspect No. 1 then pulled out a knife from his  pocket and began slashing at victim’s face and head.  Both suspects  then got back into their vehicle and sped away.
