Hart district's public performances
May 13 - End-of-year Choral Showcase featuring choirs from Rancho Pico Junior High and West Ranch High School - 7 p.m., Rancho Pico multipurpose room. Cost, $6. Students will perform songs from various cultures and time periods in Swahili, Hebrew, Latin and French, plus spirituals, jazz and graduation tributes.

May 13-14 - Valencia High School presents Showcase Variety and "MySpace the Musical," an original musical directed by Chandler Patton and Mike Mullen - 7 p.m., VHS Theater. Tickets $8.

May 14 - Rancho Pico Junior High School spring concert featuring all bands, orchestra and jazz ensemble - 7 p.m., multipurpose room. Admission $5.

May 14 - Saugus High School Literary Magazine will host a Public Reading & Arts Festival, featuring live music, 2D and 3D art galleries, poetry readings, dramatic performances and more - 6:30 p.m., outdoor amphitheater. Admission free.

May 14-16 - Hart High School Drama Department presents Woody Allen's "Play It Again, Sam" - 7 p.m., Hart HS Black Box Theater. Tickets, $10.
