Firefighters doused a blaze in a Valencia neighborhood minutes after it erupted in light brush between homes, officials said.
The fire began about 3 p.m. in the 24500 block of Windsor Drive, near a dead end.
The fire grew to about 5 acres before firefighters put it out about 3:30 p.m., said Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Frank Garrido.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
