Regarding the new bicycle lanes on Decoro between Seco Canyon and McBean Parkway: Can anyone please tell me in what infinite wisdom our city engineers designed this atrocity?

They have taken away one traffic lane and added a bike lane and right turn only lanes for the cars. That in itself is not the issue ... it's how they did it.

As you approach McBean from Seco at each corner, the bike lane reverses positions with the indicated right turn only lane. That means bikers need to move from right to left the cars need to move from left to right. What were the engineers thinking? Or was this just a complete mistake?

Either way, this is a fatality just waiting to happen.

I cannot believe that the engineers did this intentionally. It's the most ludicrous and dangerous decision I've seen implemented around our area. Our engineers really need to take a hard look at this and fix it so both the cars and the bikers are safe.
