Praise should be given to the Santa Clarita road maintenance department for a job well done in changing the traffic pattern on Decoro Drive between McBean Parkway and Seco Canyon Road.
The layout of the traffic lanes, bike lanes and the right-turn arrow lanes was a well-thought-out plan.
The bike lane now has a caution and safety barrier with two stripes on the left side of the bike path to protect the cyclists. The cyclists should now have a safe and carefree ride.
Traffic has slowed down to a sensible speed and nobody is tailgating in order to make you speed up.
The speeders are controlled from their fancy maneuvers in trying to pass you up. The one-lane traffic keeps them at bay and in a position of one unable to cause danger.
Previously, when making a right turn, the motorist behind you got impatient and agitated that you were slowing them down or making them stop.
The right-turn lane now keeps the impatient and agitated motorist going straight through the intersecti0on from having to cope with a right-turn motorist. The whole concept of the new lane changes has made the traffic flow less stressful and an easier ride up and over the hill.
Patience has now become a virtue due to the new traffic pattern.
