Suicide suspected in woman’s death
Body found near I-5 may be missing Valencia student

The woman whose body was found this week near Interstate 5 may have killed herself, sheriff’s investigators said Tuesday.

Detectives believe the body may belong to developmentally disabled Newhall resident Brigett Andrea Kennemore, 18, who went missing on Oct. 26, and that the cause of death may be suicide, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department report.

Coroner’s officials, however, have not identified the body.

The body was discovered by a gardener just after 1 p.m. Thursday in bushes in an embankment off a transition road from eastbound Highway 126 to southbound Interstate 5.

Kennemore was last seen getting off a Santa Clarita Transit bus and walking eastbound on Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic.

Family members said they believed she may have been distraught over an ended relationship at the time of her disappearance.

Kennemore’s MySpace account, which was last logged into on the day before her disappearance, revealed a strong love for animals, along with apparent feelings of isolation and distress.

In one MySpace blog posted April 22, Kennemore posted a blog entry titled “Middle of Nowhere” that described wandering in the desert and hitchhiking: “..IM SO FAR AWAY AND 2 BAD NO 1 CAN HEAR ME IM CRYING BUT NO LIQUIED AS MY TEARS BUT IM BLEEDING OUT THE PAIN...”
