A sex offender arrested last week for allegedly failing to check in with authorities for three years and violating his parole is due in Santa Clarita court today.
Lamonte Brooks, 45, of Valencia, was arrested Friday in Saugus by Community Intervention Team deputies on suspicion of parole violation, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Brenda Cambra.
The suspect was on parole for rape charges, sheriff's officials said.
After receiving a tip from state authorities, the deputies found and arrested Brooks in a residence on Bouquet Canyon Road, officials said.
