Salon Zen and Friends and Family for a Cure recently hosted a cut-a-thon to raise awareness and proceeds to benefit cancer research.
Salon Zen, located inside the Santa Clarita Athletic Club in Newhall, offered shampoo, haircuts and styledrys for $25 and donated 100 percent of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society.
The event was a huge success, said Jillian Jackson of Salon Zen, with four stylists graciously giving their time and talents to cut for a cure.
Salon Zen and Friends and Family for a Cure raised more than $900 for the American Cancer Society, and is looking forward to making this a yearly event. "Thank you to everyone who came out to support this wonderful cause," said Jackson.
