The second Southern California Edison power outage to hit Canyon Country in two days left 2,563 customers without electricity for hours Wednesday, officials said.

The outage started just after 4 a.m. and ended at about 8:40 a.m., said Southern California Edison spokeswoman Lois Pitter Bruce.

The affected area lies south of Soledad Canyon Road, north of Sierra Highway, west of Sierra Highway and east of Isabella Parkway, Bruce said.

The cause of the outage is still under investigation, she added.

The incident comes a day after another outage in Canyon Country that initially left 3,202 customers without power just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Electricity was restored to Canyon Country customers in increments throughout night and was fully recovered by 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Bruce said.

The cause of that outage appears to have been a car that crashed into a power pole, Bruce said.
