Detectives are using photographs and video footage images to search for two suspected debit card thieves who allegedly attacked a deputy in Canyon Country three weeks ago, authorities said.
"We're hoping someone will recognize them and immediately call 9-1-1," said Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Darren Harris. "These two men should be considered very dangerous ... This could have turned out a lot worse if not for the deputy being able to defend himself."
On Nov. 11, two men allegedly hit and kicked a deputy who pulled them over in front of Consumers Furniture Gallery on Golden Triangle Road for not having license plates on the truck, sheriff's officials said.
Detectives have since been searching for the suspects, who allegedly fled in a vehicle described as a four-door Nissan Titan, made between the years of 2007 and 2009, the report said.
The truck is described as having damage to the front, passenger-side bumper.
Detectives also determined the men used stolen and fraudulent debit cards to buy items at local stores, including Wal-Mart in Canyon Country, just before the attack, according to the report.
Other debit card charges were made in Studio City, Sunland, Burbank and Sun Valley, the report said.
"It's obvious they're to going to other areas and committing these crimes," Harris said. "Our concern is that their criminal activity will escalate."
The truck's driver, who first attacked the deputy, is a man of medium build who appears to be between 25 and 30 years old, the report said. In the photos and footage, he is wearing a white shirt, dark pants and a hat.
The truck's passenger is a man who appears to be between 50 and 55 years old, the report said. In the photos and footage, he is wearing a dark shirt and a hat.

The deputy has since returned to work and has recovered from bruises and scrapes he received in the struggle, Harris said.
