Is blood thicker than water?

Twin sisters, Emily and Clarice Fraczek have the answer.

Despite success with fellow sophomores Amanda Jansson and Eunice Pack for much of the season, the two struck gold when paired together.

Need proof?

The sophomores beat Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks' No. 1 tandem of Corey Berman and Olivia Arroyo 8-2 to win the 2008 Fall Brawl Tournament, then beat West Ranch sisters Gavelyn and Lena Poonnapatam to win the Foothill League doubles tennis title.

Emily and Clarice won two matches at the CIF-Southern Section Doubles Championships, only dropping four points in four sets to teams from Cypress and Marshall before being ousted by a senior tandem from Palos Verdes.

They were crucial cogs in the Valencia machine's return to the CIF-Southern Section Division III Girls Team final on Nov. 24 in Claremont.

Returned to their normal spots alongside Jansson and Pack, the teams found themselves up early in their respective matches, but they eventually fell to Valencia of Placentia.

It may be a matter of experience.

The maturation started last season when the Emily and Clarice were paired with seniors Nina Hwang and Chloe Kwock and it continued on into 2008.

The duo is a cornerstone with Vikings tennis for years to come.

For the young pairing to have experienced so much success in high-pressure matches, the years remaining in their high school careers could be lined with even more achievement.
