Assemblyman Cameron Smyth, R-Santa Clarita, will refuse the recently instituted per diem increase for state Legislators.
The Legislators' per diem is annually adjusted to account for cost-of-living expenses, and was recently increased from $170 per day to $173. It is allocated when the Legislature is in session.
