Mountainview Elementary School fourth-graders learned about making healthy food choices, planning a balanced menu and hosting family and friends when they participated in the 13th annual Kids Cooking
Campaign at the SCV School Food Services Agency in Valencia.
The goal of the program is to help elementary school children experience the positive social, nutritional and psychological values of eating together with family and friends.
The kids also learn safe, simple food preparation skills and cooking techniques they can use to help prepare meals for themselves and their families.
The Mountainview students helped prepare a Hollywood-themed menu of Caesar salad, "Golden Globe" fruit kabobs, Papa Pavy's pizza, "Box Office" brownies and "Producer's" punch.
