The 28th annual Miss SCV Scholarship Pageant is under way. "Its been such an enjoyable group of young ladies and parents," said Miss SCV Program Director Mardi Rivetti.
The 10 Little Miss contenders are ages 8 to 12, and the Miss Teen contenders are 13 to 17. They've been busy with weeks of practicing modeling walks, speeches, wardrobe preparation, interview technique and community service. "They're all doing what little girls do, enjoying the company of each other and having fun," said Rivetti.
The royal photo shoot was quite an experience for the girls; with makeup artists, hair stylists and their ball gowns embellished with crystal jewelry. "I hear from all the parents often what a difference the workshops have made in their daughters. Their self-esteem is building and ready for the stage pageant night," Rivetti said.
There will be a Miss Teen SCV regional queen ($1,000 scholarhship) and seven teen community queens crowned that night. For the Little Miss girls this year, there will be a Little Miss SCV regional queen ($1,000 scholarship) and two Little Miss princesses.
