The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station received eight reports of grand theft or burglary from vehicles over the weekend.
While many of the reports involved petty goods valued less than $100, two vehicle burglary reports each involved a company laptop.
Company laptop, cash stolen in Valencia: A Valencia resident had his vehicle broken into in front of his home on Montecito Place on the evening of April 25. When the victim inspected his vehicle - a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser - the following morning, he discovered that his Apple MacBook Pro, valued at approximately $2,500, was stolen, as well as his wallet. In his wallet was a debit card, credit card and $20 in cash.
When deputies inspected the vehicle, there were no signs of forced entry, nor were any fingerprints found.
According to the report, the laptop and other items were apparently stolen after 8 p.m. on Friday.
Laptop stolen from vehicle in Castaic: Also on April 25, another Chrysler vehicle with a company laptop was broken into - this one at a residence on Madrid Place in Castaic. The laptop stolen from this vehicle was an Apple MacBook Pro, with a reported value of $2,700.
According to the deputy's report, the laptop was stolen after 6 p.m.
on Friday. Also stolen from the 2006 Chrysler 300C was a pair of Prada sunglasses - reportedly worth $350 - and an MP3 player reportedly worth approximately $200.
There were also no signs of forced entry, according to the deputy's report, nor were any fingerprints found. However, the victim, said that he left the vehicle unlocked.
