Ivan Garcia, 20, was arrested after he was spotted on a stolen bicyle in Newhall, officials said Tuesday. Garcia was reported to authorities after the Newhall resident he stole the bicycle from saw him driving it on Saturday.

The victim reported that his bicycle, which he left unlocked in a bicycle rack at a shopping center, was stolen on Friday.

One day later, the victim saw Garcia riding his bicycle on Lyons Avenue near Orchard Village Road. The victim’s father drove to the area and detained the suspect until deputies arrived.

Garcia, of Newhall, was arrested on a felony charge of receiving stolen property. He also had three outstanding warrants for trespassing, driving without a license and theft. Garcia was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and is being held in lieu of $91,740 bail.
