SAN FERNANDO - A Canyon Country woman accused of killing her husband will be tried a second time.
Superior Court Judge Burt Pines ordered a new trial for Esperanza Castro Friday morning, three full weeks after her first trial ended in a hung jury.
Castro, 45, was on trial for allegedly killing her husband in the bedroom of their home on March 22, 2006.
A pre-trial hearing is set to begin May 28 at 9 a.m.
On Apr. 23, after 20 hours of deliberation, the jury in her trial revealed to the judge that it was a hung jury.
Castro has remained in custody.
