The city plans to host its free monthly job fair Tuesday.

“In light of the current economy and unemployment rate, job-seekers face a highly competitive environment when searching for employment,” Mayor Laurene Weste said in a statement. “The city hosts its monthly Job Fair to help give local job-seekers a leg up on the competition by offering a direct connection to local employers looking to fill open positions.”

The event, hosted jointly by the city of Santa Clarita, Goodwill Industries and the Employment Development Department, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday at the Santa Clarita WorkSource Center’s current location at 20655 Soledad Canyon Road, Suite 25.

Applicants and a number of local businesses will have the opportunity to interact in a centralized location and professional environment.

Attendees will be asked to complete a short registration form before entry and are encouraged to dress professionally and bring at least 12 resume copies, as there will be no access to computers or copiers at the event.
