The Santa Clarita Rose Society hosts its 15th Annual Rose Show themed "Wild West Roses" from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 in Hart Hall at William S. Hart Park.

Admission is free. Participants are welcome to exhibit their home-grown roses at the show for no entry fee.
Entries will include more than 1,000 single and artistic floral arrangements from growers all over Southern California.

The society will award seven crystal trophies for the best roses, 67 other prizes, more than 500 ribbons, and a "Best of Show" trophy sponsored by the city of Santa Clarita.

Participants must take their entries to the Hart Hall parking lot from 7 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday.

The society will provide vases and entry tags. From 10 a.m. to noon, 12 horticultural rose judges will award prizes to the best roses. Trophy winners will receive their awards at 2 p.m.

During the show, Don Knipp, known as "Mr. Fertilizer," will speak on the rear patio about how to fertilize roses, mulch a garden, and improve soil with organics.

Individuals who join the rose society at the show will receive a free bouquet of roses. Annual membership dues are $20 and include nine issues of the award-winning newsletter "Rose Ecstasy."
