Isabella Fraczek won the Valencia Fall Brawl singles championship on Saturday at Valencia High School.

The senior would have to go through her fellow Valencia High senior teammate, Thalia Wilczinski.

Fraczek, after losing in the semifinals as a sophomore to eventual Cal State Fullerton scholarship winner Ashley Litchfield from Quartz Hill, prevailed this year, in a close match in the finals over senior teammate Thalia Wilczynski, 9-7, in an eight-game pro-set.

Wilczynski beat Nicole Smith of Canyon in the first round, 8-1. In the second round she beat Carolyn Kern of St. Bonaventure, 8-2. In her next round she took out last year's Fall Brawl champion and this year's No. 1 seed Anne Susdorf of Hart in an 8-2 pro-set in the quarterfinals. Wilczynski had lost to Susdorf in a close match in last year's final.

Ten teams, including six area teams from Santa Clarita, included Granada Hills and Notre Dame from Sherman Oaks, St. Bonaventure from Ventura County and Quartz Hill from the Palmdale area.

Wilzcynski went on to beat the No. 4 seed Alexandra Tallas of Granada Hills 8-3 to bring her to the finals as an unseeded player.

Meanwhile, teammate Isabella Fraczek, the No. 2 seed, beat Chika Condo of Canyon, 8-0, in the first round, Notre Dame's Gabby Horton 8-2 in the quarters. In the semifinals and a win over Cassandra Fisbeck of Granada Hills, 8-5, brought her to the finals. Fraczek met Thalia Wilczynski for an all-Valencia singles final that went the distance, with Fraczek pulling out a close match against her friend and teammate 9-7 in the pro set.

Alexandra Tallas defeated teammate Cassandra Fisbeck for third place. On the doubles draw, Emily and Clarice Fraczek, beat Quartz Hill's Brookly Lazarony and Chelsea Herman, 8-1.

Then the twin sisters beat West Ranch's True O'Neil and Mallory Martin 8-3. Coming from behind 5-7 to St. Bonaventure's Nicole Reyes and Julia Maddux, the sisters rallied a comeback win 9-7 to bring them to the finals versus Notre Dame's Corey Berman and Olivia Arroyo.

Berman and Arroyo's road to the doubles final began with a win over Granada Hills LeeanHsueh and Monica Sirathanuran 8-5; then a win over Valencia's Amanda Jannson and Ashley Karzin 8-4. In the semifinals they beat the No. 1 seed Monica and Marie Gray of St. Bonaventure 8-5.

They lost to Emily and Clarice Frazcek of Valencia in the double final, 8-2, to make it an all-Fraczek championship in singles and doubles.

Third- and fourth-place doubles went to both St. Bonaventure teams. The sister team of Marie and Monica Gray finished third over teammates Julia Maddux and Nicole Rosales, 8-4.

The consolation round singles was won by Notre Dame's Francesca Battaglia 8-0 over Golden Valley Rachel Ho.

The consolation round doubles was won by Granada Hills Leann Hsueh and Monica Sirathanuran over Hart's Emily Van Houdt and Ingrid Jelderks, 8-0.
