The board of directors of Pleasantview Industries honored the program participants at its ninth annual awards banquet held recently at the Santa Clarita Activities Center.
The event focused on recognizing the hard work and effort displayed by the workers with disabilities who are part of Pleasantview’s programs, said Gerry Howard, executive director of Pleasantview.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich served as guest speaker of the evening event. Antonovich presented certificates of commendation from the county to Pleasantview’s program participants.
Pleasantview Industries, a 501(c)(3) was established in 1969 to provide work services, support services and community job placement for individuals with developmental disabilities.
“We know how special our program participants are. They deserve much more praise than they receive. We frequently see their hard work and dedication to excellence,” said the Pleasantview board of directors, President Del Guyer, Bill Alonso, Ed Colley, Robin Choppe, Colleen Lee and Frank Ferry in a joint statement.
The event is annually hosted and organized by the local Junior ROTC under the direction of Capt. Ed Colley.
