A nonconforming sign will be the topic of discussion during the Santa Clarita Planning Commission's meeting at 7 p.m. tonight at City Hall, 23920 Valencia Boulevard.

A nonconforming pylon sign is located at the Tripple S Square retail and office development at 24879 Railroad Avenue in Newhall and is about 30 feet high with a signage area of 72 square feet. The property owner is appealing a city notice that calls for the removal of the sign.

The commission will consider the following items at tonight's meeting:

n Conduct a public hearing regarding a project site located about 240 feet east of the terminus of Warm Springs Drive in Canyon Country. The applicant is requesting an oak tree permit among other approvals.

n Conduct a public hearing regarding a shared parking agreement requested by INVESCO, Inc. at Westfield Valencia Town Center. The request follows an amendment that the Planning Commission approved in December 2007. No construction is proposed as part of the request.

n Conduct a public hearing will be held regarding a request by Synergy Development Services for Omnipoint Communications, Inc., for a conditional use permit. The permit will allow for the installation and operation of a wireless communications facility at 27590 Catala Avenue.
