Two men robbed a woman as she filled up her car at a Chevron gas station on San Fernando Road in Newhall on Monday, taking the victim's gas and bank cards, sheriff's officials said.
The woman, whose name was not released, was standing next to her car filling up the tank about 12:20 a.m. when she felt something reach into her pocket from behind her, according to a Sheriff's Department
report.
When she turned around, she saw a man run away from her toward a 1980s-model black Honda Civic. The victim ran toward the suspect and approached him as he got into the passenger seat, demanding he return her gas and bank cards.
According to the police report, the suspect then told the victim: "Don't make me pull out my gun, lady."
The car's driver told the pickpocket to just pull out his gun and fire at the victim, the Sheriff's Department report said.
Upon hearing this, the victim backed away from the vehicle. Moments later, the two suspects drove away from the gas station and headed south on San Fernando Road.
There were no reported injuries, though the victim's stolen cards were not recovered.
Deputies do not have any additional information about the suspects, except that they are Hispanic, between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches in height and roughly 200 pounds.
