Lyon to umpire in Omaha Umpiring has been a passion of Chuck Lyon's since he was in junior high school when he first learned the ins and outs of calling a game. Back then it was more about finding a way to earn a few extra dollars over the summer, but Lyon has stayed in blue ever since, climbing the ranks from Little League to high school to Community College and all the way through the college levels. |

COC, TMC pile up awards It appears that more awards are in order. College of the Canyons right fielder Trevor Bloom, pitcher Trevor McDonald and third baseman Matt Warr have all added to their postseason honors. Belue becomes All-American Brian Belue accomplished two goals Friday. The Saugus High graduate and former College of the Canyons track and field athlete finished seventh Friday in the decathlon at the 2009 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in San Angelo, Tex. for Humboldt State.
