UPDATED: AYSO 678 soccer signups this week Registration for the upcoming fall AYSO soccer season continues this week for Newhall, Valencia, Stevenson Ranch and surrounding areas. Walk-in registration will be held at three elementary schools May 8-15, or parents may register players online at www.ayso678.org until May 31. Registration will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the following dates at these schools: • Tuesday, May 13: Valencia Valley Elementary, 23601 Carrizo Dr. • Thursday, May 15: Meadows Elementary, 25577 N. Now playing: an all-Vikings 'smash' It was a showdown of Valencia's best singles players as Jack Zapala and Tyler Gottshall faced off in the championship match of the Spring Smash held at Valencia High School on Saturday. Zapala went on to win the final set 8-3 and finished the tournament in first place. The Spring Smash tennis tournament is held annually at Valencia High School and showcases some of the top singles players and doubles teams in the Foothill League as well as various schools throughout Southern California.
