Max Haro, 19, left, and Lily Fuentes, 19, both of Canyon Country, spend time under the shade afforded by a tree at Todd Longshore Park in Canyon Country on Wednesday. Haro described the weather as “really nice, warm, breezy, kind of like a beach feeling.”

Sunny, warm days with breezy conditions were forecast for the rest of the week, with highs reaching the high 70s — until Sunday, when they will sink to the high 60s.

And climate experts don’t see any rain in the Santa Clarita Valley’s near future.

“We’re definitely below the normal rainfall for this time of year by at least five to six inches,” National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Wofford said Wednesday. “Rainfall in the SCV in the next seven to 10 days would be highly unlikely.”

Without significant rainfall, there’s always the risk of a brush fire, Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Mark Savage said.

“The Fire Department would certainly welcome some nice, steady rain for a few days to decrease that possibility,” Savage said. “But until we get some significant rain, the possibility of a brush fire remains.”

Today will be sunny with highs near 79. Friday’s high will reach 72 with lingering winds of 20 to 25 mph and possible gusts as high as 35 mph.

Saturday’s high will be about 71, and Sunday’s will be around 68. Lows will be in the 40s.
